Welcome TO OUR FAMILY

JC_resized.jpg

Bonjour Chers Amis!

Boisset is a diverse collection of unique wineries with deep historical and family roots in many of the world’s most prestigious terroirs. Transcending traditional boundaries, Boisset Collection embraces audacity and innovation and unites Old World and New into the One World of Wine, offering an unparalleled exploration of terroir, heritage, vineyards, and style.

More than 7 centuries of combined history unite our wineries. Cistercian monks planted the vineyards of Le Clos Vougeot in 1110, inspiring Domaine de la Vougeraie to this day. Bouchard Aîné & Fils has built its family reputation in Beaune since 1750. Buena Vista Winery is California’s First Premium Winery, founded in Sonoma in 1857. These are just a few examples of the remarkable history of Boisset Collection.

Deepening the legacies of each of its estates is at the core of our family mission. In pursuit always of authentic, lasting identity, terroir-driven wines that respect the living life of the vineyards, their history and future, we are a leading proponent and practitioner of organic and Biodynamic® farming. Biodynamic farming embraces biodervisity, treats the vineyard as a self-contained eco-system to foster a natural balance with earth, the vine, and the people caring for it, in order to produce wines true to their source, in harmony with and expressive of their unique site.

Jean-Claude Boisset

In 1961, a tenacious 18-year-old Jean-Claude Boisset founded his namesake négociant winery in Nuits-St.-Georges. An artisan Burgundy producer with an audacious, contemporary style, the winery is housed in a former Urslines convent where Winemaker Grégory Patriat strives for authentic wines in which human intervention has been kept to a bare, discreet minimum. Utilizing native yeasts, the wines are concentrated, well-rounded, and naturally expressive of their terroirs. The winery embraces the philosophy devised by the Boisset family of the Viniculuralist, where the winemaker is as much engaged in the vineyards as in the cellars, building close partnerships with growers to achieve the highest quality in the vineyards.

Domaine Maire

Domaine Maire has been nestled in the Jura, a wine region in eastern France between Burgundy in the east and Switzerland in the west, since 1632. Founded by a man named Maire, for over 300 years generations of Maires succeeded one another, strengthening the Maison’s expertise. For Domaine Henri Maire, the “Path to Gold” is an initiation to the richness and diversity of Jura wines. It starts with Côtes du Jura, which exalts the freshness of Chardonnay. It follows with Arbois, with its rich palette of wines, the use of Savagnin, and the mysterious veil aging.
